How does a 1025r with a 60D mower deck ship?

I picked up a fresh 1025R with the 60D mower deck a couple of days go. Everything was in crates when loaded on my truck, so this post will serve both for during the initial installation as well as the overall setup and adjustments. It ships in a cardboard box, separate from the crated mower deck itself.

Did your 1025r go back to the dealer?

My new 1025R went back to the dealer on Monday. I received it back yesterday. Dealer replaced the rockshaft valve and adjusted the deck. This made a world of difference.

Why wont my mower lock up?

The Lock position is prevented because the rock shaft arm does not lower enough to allow the cam to rotate into the lock position, nor into the maximum deck height positions. This is true even if I detach the lift links from the mower deck so there should be no load on the rockshaft arm.

Where to place mulching blades on a 60” deck?

I now have the mulching blades on my 60” deck and these with one small washer are 1/4” above the bottom of the deck bottom lip. Knowing this I set the level of the deck using some wood blocks cut to height I desire and place them under the deck lip to complete set up.

Do you leave the pins on the draft arms on 1025r?

The independent lift on the 1025R uses the dash button like the 2025R. The pins are easy to deal with. I suppose you could leave them out. But do you operate your 3 point without the pins on the draft arms? The ROPS will fold and lock at 90 degrees to the rear of the machine so it neither interferes with the top link or the tool box.

Do I need to relevel the front of my mower deck?

I also found that any mean full change in mower deck height will require releveling to suit the changed to height. Seems the front of the deck always to be vastly lower than the rear. Raising the front requires the front bail bar nuts adjustment.

There have been numerous complaints on the 2018 and newer 1025r and 2025r tractors. My 2014 1026r had no such noise but my 2018 2025r is awful. Its a little more noticeable at lower rpm. John Deere claims it is normal and has refused to address this issue. Did you experience this noise on your previous 1025r?

Why does my lawn mower lock up when it gets wet?

If the mower has been sitting in wet conditions for a long time or haven’t replenished the engine oil, the piston can get stuck, and the engine can lock up. To prevent this lock-up, you need to remove the spark plug and add the lubricant from the hole into the engine.

Why wont my lawn mower turn over?

When your lawn mower wont turn over, the problem usually boils down to the fuel/air mixture or the spark. When you cant even get the recoil starter to turn, however, its usually the oil -- either too much or too little of it -- unless the problem is with the starter itself. Too much oil creates a hydro-lock, which is easy to fix.

What causes a lawn mower blade to get stuck when starting?

If the blades are clean and the engine has oil, it may be the recoil starter that is at fault. The starter includes a spring-loaded hub that spins the engine crankshaft and the lawnmower blade when you pull the starter rope. The spring can bind or even break, and its possible for the rope to cross over itself when it rewinds and get stuck.
